Latest News Update About Glenn Beck Rally: Jon Stewart is so excited about Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally in Washington, D.C., tomorrow that he preemptively covered the event last night on “The Daily Show.” Beck is staging a gathering that, according to his website, will “celebrate America by honoring our heroes, our heritage and our future.” But the fact that the rally is being held on the same date Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963– and in the same location, the steps of the Lincoln Memorial — has caused protest among some civil rights leaders.

NBC’s Tom Costello, on Friday’s Today show, in previewing Glenn Beck’s rally at the Lincoln Memorial this weekend, focused on the racial insensitivity of the Tea Partiers as he reminded NBC’s viewers that at last year’s rally in Washington “there were a lot of signs that had rather racist overtones. The concern is that might be repeated this time. By the way, many Beck followers, who are coming, are being urged to avoid African-American areas and avoid conflict.”
