Palm Sunday: Pesently o be clear: the crowd on Palm Sunday hospitable Jesus with shouts of “Hosanna!” is by and grand not the same crowd on Good Friday that stress his death with shouts of ‘Crucify!’
This is a well-liked point preachers like to create, and I’ve almost certainly made it in my opinion: “Look at the irregular crowd. They sing songs to him on Sunday and five days later on Friday they want to kill him. How rapidly we all go round away.” But read all four gospel accounts carefully (and check some good commentaries). The eager throng on Palm Sunday was filled with Galilean pilgrims and the bigger group of disciples, not the Jerusalem crowd in universal.
