Latest News Update About Cincinnati Bengals:The Cincinnati Bengals signed third-round draft pick Jordan Shipley to a four-year, $2.54 million deal on Tuesday that includes a signing bonus of $757,000, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.
Shipley was selected as the 84th pick in this year’s draft after a phenomenal career at Texas in which he caught 205 passes for 2,545 yards and 24 touchdowns during his final two seasons. He has the speed and quickness to be an effective slot receiver—an area the Bengals struggled with last season after T.J. Houshmandzadeh signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
Last season, the Bengals’ passing game struggled, finishing 26th by averaging just 180.6 yards per game. Many analysts have compared Shipley’s skills to New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker.
