Latest News Update About Fire From Below: In the Tuesday, July 20, issue of your paper, it was reported that the Coconino National Forest is going to remove the fire restrictions that have been in place since the Schultz fire, just below an article about several lightning-caused fires currently burning in the forest. I live in Kachina Village, where the monsoon rains have yet to fall this season and where the forest is still bone dry. The fire condition sign posted in our community says the fire danger is still very high. This decision was apparently made on the basis of a conference call between the Williams, Red Rock and Flagstaff USFS offices. Read More
