He tries hard defensively, but is neither strong nor quick and can't do much to help (further hindered in his Philadelphia days by their strange decision to make him guard power forwards for long stretches). Korver lacks a position defensively, unable to defend anyone; however, at 6'7, he is best served at small forward.
