20 killed in Karachi blast, Powerful explosion demolishes CID office, 120 injured.


Latest News Update About Pakistan News 20 killed in Karachi blast, Powerful explosion demolishes CID office, 120 injured: At least 20 people were killed and more than 100 others sustained severe injuries when a powerful blast ripped through Central Investigation Department (CID) office located near the Chief Minister House and PIDC. CID building along with 10 other nearby buildings has completely demolished. Banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibility of the attack.
According to the latest forensic reports, there is no probability of a vehicle been used in this blast.

According to CCPO Karachi, few unidentified persons reached outside the CID office and started indiscriminate firing at CID check post. Afterwards, a vehicle came and a power explosion occurred, the CCPO added. Ambulances and rescue teams rushed to the blast site and shifted the dead bodies and injured to Jinnah and Civil hospitals where emergency was declared. At least 60 injured have been transferred to Jinnah Hospital. Several people are still trapped under the debris of the buildings. A heavy contingent of police and law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. Three suspected people have been arrested from the blast site.

The blast was heard in major areas of city.

Home minister Zulfiqar Mirza visited the site and also talked to media. He said that the blast was similar to the blast at Mariott in Islamabad. Mirza also demanded inquiry report from IG Sindh.Read More.
