The actor died Tuesday at his Century City home on the Westside of Los Angeles of complications from colon cancer, said his publicist Dale Olson Los Angeles Times.
He was the last surviving member of the real television family, the American sitcom ran on a small screen, from 1952 to 1966. Nelson attended the University of Southern California, then to the parents that it can act on the show, along with his brother, teen idol Ricky convincing.
He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and collected a number of television and film credits, including roles in “Peyton Place”, “The Big Circus” and “Love and Kisses”.
Apart from the small screen, including Nelson starred in several films like “The Big Circus, ” “Day of the Outlaw” and “Cry-Baby.”
